Perhaps this can even be seen as a unique moment in Czech history, as over the last week, the Czech Republic has celebrated over 100 years of independence as a country. It is a truly symbolic time that now, at this moment, Pierre de Lasenic’s first book has been translated and published into book form. The Czech Republic is truly moving into a time of greater freedom as a country and away from having to keep the tradition only as a secret to itself (out of fear of persecution) as the book will be shipped to most countries.

This is not only the first time that Pierre de Lasenic’s work has been translated and published into book form, but also one of the very few times that the work of a Czech author has been translated into a foreign language, in which further translations will follow.
